2007 has been yet another busy year for the college – and overall it has been a very productive year for IT Services. Other than the obvious major disappointment (and I’m not referring to the rugby world cup) it has been a very positive year.

Every year our IT Systems team visit an off site secret facility to simulating the disaster recovery of all our key servers. The aim of these 3 days is to ensure we have the skills and procedures in place to recover from an environmental disater that impacts on our IT infrastucture.

I spent the day at Burton College – in their very nice new HE building (lots of areas for students to chill out, lots of Macs, big wide staircases, nice canteen and so on – all very pleasant).
The main focus though was obviously Moodle. The enthusiasm of these meetings compared to the old WebCT ones [...]
